fete*
exclusive web interview
so what is the purpose behind fete?
the purpose behind “fete” is to really represent where you come from and look like a hot gyallll at the same time. i’m someone who takes so much pride in my country, my west indian heritage and i know so many others share the same love our west indian culture. what better way to express and represent by having your countries flag on you.
tell me about the process of creating handmade bikini’s
my process starts off with thousandsss of rhinestones, i first start by painting one of the caribbean flags on the bikini. then one by one adding the colored rhinestones to the flag and carefully placing them so that they don’t overlap and that they stay in place.
what inspired you to start fete?
i originally made my trinidad and rhinestone bikini for labor day in 2023. when i posted it on tiktok, i had gotten so much support and a lot of people where saying that this is something that i should start to make more of including more west indian countries. i then started making my samples asap so i can have a variety of my west indian bikinis.
what future plans or goals do you have for fete?
a definite goal that i have is i would love to have a little pop up shop with the bikinis and having my own fashion show to display my pieces. i have gotten so many requests, received so much feedback i am taking it all into consideration. i would love to branch out into customizing other pieces of clothing. i will also be branching out into african countries so that representation can be there for the girlies as well! i have so much in stored fete bikinis and i am so grateful and excited for what is to come!"
